In this capacity, Mr. Hodgdon has grown this private equity-backed company to more than 1,700 beds serving over 2,000 people with approximately 2,000 employees in six states. The company improves care and behaviors to improve health and reduce hospitalizations. Prior to Beacon, Darren was the National Vice President of Strategy and Clinical Innovation for United Healthcare Community and State, the largest Medicaid payer in the U.S. serving over 8 million members in 26 states. Prior serving in a national role, Darren was the Chief Operating Officer for United Healthcare overseeing the largest state Medicaid plan in the U.S. ($16.5B) serving over 580,000 Medicaid lives for the State of Tennessee. In this capacity, Mr. Hodgdon implemented several innovative programs and value-based contracts to improve access and care coordination, primary care and the integration of physical and mental health services. Former President of Healthways, Inc. the largest population health provider in the U.S. supporting over 30 million lives. Mr. Hodgdon was instrumental in growing the company from $120MM to $900MM over a six-year period supporting new acquisitions as well as managing denovo growth program. CEO and Founder of Health IQ Diagnostics, LLC. Hodgdon sold this biometric screening company to Healthways. The company developed programs for d health plans enabling them to risk adjust healthcare premiums based on employee lifestyle risk factors and health management practices. Founder (1991), Chairman, former CEO of LifeStart Wellness Network, Inc. the largest national provider of corporate wellness facilities in 18 states. Sold company to NY-based private equity firm in November 2020.Mr. Hodgdon holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a BA in Business Administration from the University of San Diego.
