Deborah L. Heggie, Ph.D.

As chief clinical officer for Magellan Health, Deborah Lynne Heggie, Ph.D. is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of national clinical policies and procedures, including the development of clinical program enhancements, case management initiatives and the clinical aspects of new product development. Heggie has significant experience in the development of clinical care management policies and procedures. She served as vice president of care management at Green Spring Health Services, and senior vice president of clinical operations at Magellan before being named chief clinical officer in 2010. Other prior clinical leadership experience includes director of managed care at Capitol Region Center in Hartford, Conn., director of outpatient services for Positive Alternatives to Hospitalization (PATH) in West Hartford, Conn., and director of internship training for Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, Conn. Heggie received her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of California, Davis and a doctorate in clinical psychology at Fuller Graduate School of Psychology in Pasadena, Calif.
