Dimitrios Cavathas, LCSW-C is the Vice President of Integrated Care and Development at People Encouraging People, Inc., (PEP) a 35 year old non-profit behavioral health organization in Maryland that provides community based services to persons with severe and persistent mental illness, substance abuse issues, and other complex medical needs. He oversees PEP’s nine Assertive Community Treatment Teams, one of the largest of its kind in the country, as well as accompanying Supportive Housing Programs in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County, Prince Georges County, and Montgomery County. These programs combined serve approximately 1200 consumers on a monthly basis. He also oversees the organization’s Health Home which provides direct primary care and health home services as well as oversees the managed care relations for PEP. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Maryland School of Social Work teaching Advanced Mental Health and Social Policy. Dimitri is married with two beautiful children and has been in the helping profession for over 23 years.
